What it's good for.

Anywhere a stock photo or a gray box would otherwise go, and you'd rather have a picture of the thing itself.

Header images for posts and docs

Render a landscape 1536×1024 illustration for each article instead of reaching for the same stock photo everyone else uses. Every render comes back as a hosted URL you can paste straight into your CMS.

Mockups with believable content

Client demos land better with a plate of food on the menu page and a real-looking product on the shop page. Standard quality at 10 credits is usually enough for a deck or a staging site.

Finding the prompt cheaply

Drafts cost 1 credit, about 3 cents, so you can try ten wordings for the price of a third of a premium render. When one works, render it again at premium with the same words.

One image per page, from a template

Put the prompt in an image URL on a domain you've registered and every page built from that template gets its own picture. Each distinct prompt is rendered and charged once; every later view is free.

From a URL

Render it from your markup.

The tool above renders by hand. To render from markup, use /api/generate on a domain you've added and verified in your account. Requests are matched to your account by the page's Referer, so the image is billed to you and never to the visitor.

First request. Charges the credits and starts the render. The response is a “Generating” card; it usually takes 10 to 60 seconds.

Every request after. A 302 redirect to the finished PNG on Cloudflare Images. No charge, however many people load the page.

If it fails. The credits go back to your balance and the next request tries again.

Add and verify a domain under Account → Sites with a DNS TXT record. New renders are capped per domain per hour and per account per day; repeats don't count.

Short prompts work, and the same words can give different pictures at different settings. Longer prompts give you more control: name the subject, the setting, the light and the framing.

Which model draws the images?+

GPT Image 2 from OpenAI. imgsrc.pub sends your prompt, stores the result on Cloudflare Images and gives you a permanent URL to it.

How much does one image cost?+

A draft is 1 credit, standard is 10 and premium is 30. On the $9 Starter pack that is about 3 cents, 30 cents and 90 cents. The larger packs bring the per-credit price down by 20% and 33%.

Am I charged again for the same prompt?+

No. An identical prompt, aspect and quality returns the stored render at no charge, from the tool or from a URL. Change any of the three and it counts as a new render.

What happens if a render fails?+

The credits are refunded automatically. A render that finishes but isn't what you pictured is charged, which is why drafts exist: find the wording at 1 credit, then render it at premium.

Can I use the images commercially?+

You own the prompts you write and, as far as the law and the model provider allow, the images you generate. imgsrc.pub claims no ownership over them. Don't generate content that infringes someone else's rights.

Why is my embedded image showing an error card instead?+

The card names the reason. The usual ones: the domain isn't registered or verified, the page sends no Referer header (check your referrer policy), the account is out of credits, or the domain hit its hourly cap on new renders.
